Winning soul for Christ is one assignment Pastor Evans Mozurunyem loves to carry out with zeal and contentment. He is one man of God endowed with oratorical prowess and he does not mince words proclaiming that Jesus Christ as the redeemer and savior of our souls.
The eloquent man of God is the Senior Pastor of Kings of Kings Evangelical Ministries International located along Badagry Expressway, Lagos.
Pastor Mozurunyem is a qualified Pharmacist, having attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he bagged a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree. He practiced as Pharmacist and jettisoned the profession when he was called by God and given the mandate to preach the gospel and enforce the supremacy of Christ over principalities and power.
The debonair clergyman spoke to National WAVES Publisher, Jimmy Enyeh in the comfort of his office in Lagos. He basically spoke on why he had to abandon his profession to heed to the calling of working in the vineyard of the Lord.

What were you doing before you got the call to work for God?
I am a registered professional pharmacist. I graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1990. I have already started practicing right here in Lagos state. I had a pharmaceutical outlet where I carried out my pharmaceutical activities.
I was into small scale production. I was producing some external preparations like Calamine lotion, hydrogen peroxide and medicated spirit.
In those days, I used to have a very powerful product called Chivea Medicated Spirit being used everywhere in Lagos state. But just one day. I was alone in prayer. God spoke to me and He said it was time for me to preach the gospel, to carry the message of life to all. Right inside me, I felt somehow because to drop my profession and begin to carry the bible was a tough time, a moment of transition for me because I did not know how to drop my profession. Being a professional and registered pharmacist for that matter and I was into practice and God is still saying strongly that I have to preach the good news and drop pharmacy. Not only that, but I should give up my certificate for him. So, as I am talking to you, my license is not being used by anybody. It is in the house of God.
So, this is what happened and since that time that God called me, I have been in the pulpit preaching.
I went to the Bible School, Winners Chapel and was ordained by Bishop Oyedepo in the year 2000. That was when I was ordained and called into the ministry. After my graduation from the bible school, since that time till date, I have been on the pulpit preaching the gospel. That was the Kings of Kings Evangelical Ministries started. God gave me a mandate and that mandate is to preach the gospel and the enforcement of the supremacy of Christ over principalities and power
God said I should go and bring out men from the dungeon of captivities and put them in the place of light and enforce the supremacy of Christ over all principalities and power, rulers of darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in their heart. He said I should go now and preach. So when I consulted my dear wife, she supported me and said I should move forward. She is a lawyer by profession; she is also into the ministry and always supporting the whole thing. Since that time till now, I have been on and God has been so wonderful and faithful, in fact if you see testimonies on ground, you will know that this is the handiwork of God. It is not by might or by power. It is truly by his spirit. So, that is what we are doing right now.
After you graduated from Bible School, were you worshiping at Winners Chapel?
I was a member of Winners Chapel. In fact, I started with Winners Chapel from 1994 to 2000. When I was ordained, my ministry became so serious. So, I had to stop. Till date this church is paying her tithe to Winners Chapel. So, he is my Melchizedek for now.
Apart from the headquarters, do you have branches in other places?
For now, we have not been talking about branches. But God said to me that from now on, we would start talking about branches. I wanted to maintain a one- cell church like we do here but because of these messages; I have been getting to talk about these branches. I had wanted to train men who will handle our branches but God is still speaking to me about the branches and I think I have started considering it. So, any moment from now, we will start talking about it and spreading out because there is need to spread out and win more souls for God.
Different men of God have special callings. Where do you specialize on?
Well, I am a pastor and also a prophet of God. God has called me in the area of prophesy and has given me the office of a prophet. I am an evangelist, a preacher and a teacher. Also, I believe that God has given us the gift of the five-fold ministry of the Holy Spirit by his grace. God is doing his work here. So, he called me as a pastor and empowered me again by the Grace of God with his spirit as his prophet.
I am a prophet. Not only that, I am also an evangelist, a preacher, teacher and writer.
When God called you to do his work, were you reluctant?
From my explanation, I told you it took me time when the message came that I should give up the profession. You should know that a registered and practicing pharmacist is not a beggar’ I wasn’t hungry so to drop that profession and took to the pulpit took me some time. It was a moment I had to think deep. I had to take my decision. I had to sit down for a moment to think about my future and God was still speaking, telling me that is where my destiny lies, in the ministry and that is why I am here. There is one question every man must answer in life why are you here? For what purpose? Once you begin to have fulfillment in that area, that becomes your calling and that is what you can do better.
As a pharmacist, I know I can do it but I cannot do better. Now I am doing what I think the Almighty God has sent me to do. I think I am doing better now.
When we came, we were outside for two to three hours waiting to see you and so many people were trooping in to see you, you were so busy. So, how do you cope with life as a clergyman and taking care of your family?
Exactly, God is my strength in all. I have a good and lovely partner. My wife is also helping me out in the areas where I am supposed to be talking to the children and all that. She is always there for me. She takes care of so many things. I am also trying to cope with the work, my family and whatever we have in the house. God is giving me the wisdom and the strength to move on. There is time for everything. You always try to make use of your time. Make out time to attend to the kids. Teach them sometime in the area of their assignments. The woman of God is also learned and she would do it for them saying Daddy I am doing this for you
I also wrote the “Oracle” so I make out time to write. We have people who are helping me to put them together as well as a good printer. So, I thank God for the strength. I cope very well and I know that God is always my strength and he gives me the wisdom. Taking care of my family and taking care of the family of God here. For now we are moving forward; we are doing well.
Let’s talk about the “Oracle,” what is it all about?
It is a daily devotional guide. It is the need for every soul. It brings upliftment and nourishment. It provides answer, everyday answer for your daily activities. If you go to the Oracle, you will know one thing, this is what God said you should do for that particular day before you move over to the next day. It is always a plus to all our endeavours. It is a very wonderful book but you can’t go through the book of Oracle without going through the book of life which is the Bible because all the references go to the Bible, when you open it, you open the Bible by the side and also have something to take down those things that you are getting out of it. So, the Oracle is a wonderful book, instead of consulting the oracle we know in life and all the deities, it is good to consult the book of life, the word of God which is the real Oracle.
Your Ministry seems to be growing at a very alarming rate. What is your strength?
You see the name Kings of Kings was given to me by God. He said when I was seeking and looking out for the name of this ministry after my graduation from the bible school, god handed it over to me. He said the name of my ministry is going to be His name. That if I call him by His name, every kneel shall bow. Of course, you know what the Bible says, that the name of the Lord is a strong towers. The righteous runs into it and is saved. Everything that is associated with the name of our Lord Jesus must be associated with progress. So, I am not surprised that the numerical strength of the church is continually increasing everyday and people are moving in everyday. So it is because of this name, Kings of Kings and He is the only kings of all the kings, every member of the church is a king but Christ is the king of kings.
Precisely, how old is the church?
Well, the church is wonderful. It is moving and God has really blessed us, previously, we were operating in the former building but when there was need for expansion of the Badagry Expressway by the government of Lagos state, God gave us the financial strength to develop this one we are worshiping in, and we moved in immediately. There was no delay or disturbances. So the church is moving forward. You know like the mandates that God has given me, bringing out men, so many people who come here have wonderful testimonies. It is a mystery. It is something that no man can explain based on our common sense. It takes the supernatural understanding for you to know what God is doing here. The blind see, the lame walk, the cripple come out of their wheel chairs. A lot of testimonies. Could you believe that dead cockroaches, seven of them came out of somebody’s body here before us? So many wonderful testimonies that we have been experiencing in the house. My son here,( referring to a member of the church who brokered the interview) is a living witness too. God is transforming people here in a very mysterious way and we try to listen and follow him under the platform of a covenant that’s where we operate. That is how we do it.
I saw members sow the mystery seed , I think it was unique. What is it all about?
The mystery seed issue is based on the revelation of God. God told me that there is a need for mystery seed. That he wants to lift some people who have been going through many terrible things in life. But you see every seed is acidic. It is only the fruit that is edible. The most edible part of the whole thing is that seed will produce fruit. One seed produces so many fruits. So when God spoke to me about the mystery seed, he said anyone who will tap into the revelation of the mystery seed, mind you mystery seed is different from tithe or your first fruit and also different from your normal offering. Mystery seed is by revelation given to the man of God. Based on that revelation, God said to me that people who are going to be sowing their mystery seed of N1, 000 and above. It must be a thousand and above and such people must be having, their testimonies of the mystery. You know the Bible said that, to us God has given us the mystery by the Holy Spirit but to them out there who are not in the kingdom, they see parables and parables are difficult to explain.
But to us, he said we have the spirit of God that gives us the interpretation of the mysteries.
The mystery seed interprets that God is with them that feareth him.
So when you obey God by paying the mystery seed. God will open the door of the mysteries of his blessings unto your life. That’s why that lady participated. She came all the way from Eket. She wasn’t a member of this church. She just came because somebody told her about the testimonies going on here, so at the time of the mystery, I began to speak just like every other time about the mysteries like I spoke today. So this lady had on her only one thousand naira which was part of the money she would use for her transport back to Eket but God spoke to her that she should go and listen to the man of God because she was going through terrible pain for many years and no doctor could cure her. No doctor could handle her case, even her husband was confused. They had gone to doctors and pastors. They had gone to so many churches and it wasn’t working, so somebody introduced this church to them. She owned up and used the last money on her and paid the mystery seed of one thousand naira. She had little or nothing on her again.
She managed to raise money and boarded a car from the park. On the way she started having problems and asked the driver to stop, that she wants to ease herself. Getting there, lo and behold, what she passed out were two dead Cockroaches, she held them in her handkerchief and folded it. She got to a place again at Onitsha and experienced the same thing. She stopped the driver and alighted from the car. The driver and other passengers had noticed her and her troubled body and she was troubled about what was going on.
The second time, two dead cockroaches cane out again and she folded them up making four. On getting to her house in Eket, she entered the house, called the husband, before she could say what was happening to her husband, she had the same feeling and went to the toilet and didn’t use the WC. She decided to do it on the floor. There again, three dead cockroaches, making seven. There was trouble in Eket. There was explosion in the house. The husband was behaving like a baby, asking the wife, where did you go? For no man can do this thing. How much did you give? We have already spent a lot of money. The last one hundred and fifty thousand naira they had on them was spent and they also sold their car. The thing was still there but how did you just go to have this thing done? She said to her husband that she was in a church in Lagos and a man of God said something about the mystery seed. She just obeyed and came out but later borrowed money for her transport fare. That was the only thing and the husband asked how much did you say you put there? She said one thousand naira, he said you are joking, is that what made these seven dead cockroaches to come out. That was the end of infirmity. The sickness and everything disappeared till date. So the mystery is a revelation that God has given to me. It is not a normal universal thing it is something that has to do with this ministry. Anyone who partakes in it is always encouraged and testifies to the goodness of what God has done. So that is what mystery seed is all about.
Most churches are now diversifying into building schools and hospitals. Are you thinking in that direction?
Yes, we are thinking of building schools, especially the primary and secondary schools, But for now, you can see that the church is still under construction. So, we are trying to construct the administrative block over there like four storey building and also we want to complete the work on ground before we can start the school. We have such plans in future; we are going to do that.
Do you have vision for this year?
It is already declared on January 1st. it is our year of amazing bliss. God will surprise those who believe in him. Those who trust, and stand on the promises of God. God has blessed us with all the spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. God has given us that word.
How is your typical day like?
Everyday is a plus for me. Each time I wake up, I wake up with the fulfillment of his power in me. You should know that every man of God like me will always be praying and looking out for a brighter future and I pray for my family, church members, pray for a new anointing every day. So, every day is a plus. Each time I wake up, I give God the glory. I thank him for giving me the strength for continuity because I know that what we need is the strength of God, the spiritual power, the ability, so that we will be able to fight the contending force. The Bible says that from the days of John the Baptist, the kingdom of God suffereth violence in the word of God because I am a writer, I always think of something to put down. I write the Oracle from time to time because the Oracle is something that is encouraging me to always write and if you read the Oracle, you will discover that God is giving me the revelation of what I put down everyday for every soul. It is good to pick up the book, Oracle and pick up a word or something from God which is enough to make you instead of going to look for signs and all that. Go to the Oracle. It takes a lot of time and commitment. So each day is a bright day. I know that God is always answering at any time.
