The name ‘Gele’ is said to have originated from the Yoruba culture referring to a woman’s head wrap.
Different Gele materials with colorful and shimmering materials are now used by celebrity women to replace the traditional gele.
Designer gele which is also known as auto gele is a ready made fancy gele that has been made or sown for wonen to wear any time they have occasions.
The gele is a part of traditional women’s wear in Nigeria, and is usually the indicator of fancy dress. There is simply no Aso-Ebi without gele, it the two go together.
They will be a party or a gathering that Aso-Ebi will be needed, some ladies can sit beside their dressing mirror battling with gele for hours and most time they will get late to the event in the name of tying gele.
This made almost all the ladies has different types, colors and designs of it.
Auto gele makes some ladies boost their confidence, transform their look and made heads turn as soon as they enter gathering
The most common auto gele in town right now is HOH sagoe gele, which most ladies rush to get, very vibrant, and it comes in different colors and designs, it bring out beauty and feels more comfortable in it unlike the normal gele.
