The Delta Stste Police Command has said reports of the the killing of the former Commissioner for Higher Education in Governor Sherrif Oborevwori’s cabinet and former member of the House of Representatives who represented Aniocha/Oshimili Federal constituency of Delta State, Joan Mrakpor was kidnapped by gunmen has not been receivedby the Command.
The WILL had reported that gunmen killed and dumped the body of yhe gormer commissioner around the Onitsha end of the Niger Bridge.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe, said the news of her murder was so far false and that her abductors had not made any contact with anyone.
“The deployment of a team of security personnel to the bank of the River Niger in both Asaba and Onitsha to verify her death or release, however, returned without success,” SP Edafe stated.
