Edo State Deputy Governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo and his deputy, Dennis Idahosa knelt for President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa on Thursday.
Okpebholo and his deputy visited Tinubu to present their Certificates of Return. They expressed gratitude by kneeling while acknowledging the support of the president during the election.
They highlighted their commitment to serve the state with support from the federal government.
Tinubu congratulated them on their victory and underscored the need for unity and cooperation to ensure progress in the state.
Accompanying the governor-elect were notable figures from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), including Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the APC National Chairman, and several governors. Among the governors present were Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq (Kwara), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Usman Ododo (Kogi), and Dapo Abiodun (Ogun). Also in attendance were Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Okpebholo of the APC as the winner of the recent Edo State gubernatorial election, further solidifying his role as the state’s new governor-elect.
