The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima decorating the new Acting IGP, Egbetokun

The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima on Tuesday decorated the new Acting Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
Thw Vice Preaident repreaented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) who had earlier left for Paris, France to attend the Financial Pact Summit (FPS).
This was announced in a tweet by Bola Ahmed Tinubu Media centre.
The tweet reads
“Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima (GCON), decorates the new Acting Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun at the State House in Abuja.
Egbetokun was decorated at the presidential villa in a brief ceremony witnessed by top government officials.
These include the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma who also serves as the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and the outgoing IG, Alkali Baba Usman.
President Tinubu on Monday night appointed the Egbetokun as the acting Inspector-general of Police pending the confirmation of the Senate.
Egbetokun replaced Baba Usman who was appointed as the Inspector General by the immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari in 2021.
Tinubu approved the retirement of Baba Usman along with all service chiefs of the country.
