The name Alhaji (Dr) Auwalu Abdullahi Rano, popularly known as AA Rano is synonymous with oil and gas in Nigera and beyond the shore of the country.

Rano sure knows the nitty gritty of the downstream sub-sector of the petroleum industry.

The billionaire oil magnate is endowed with unprecedented brilliance and lofty skills that continually avails him leverage as the mythical magic carpet perfects the flight of the fabled Aladdin.

Rano has all it takes to compete favouraby well with his contemporaries in the oil and gas sector.

So powerful and proficient is Rano that the top heirachy of the NNPC rever him.

He gets massive allocations in the corporation on merit.

The billionaire magnate, with business concerns in Chad, started marketing and distributing petroleum products on a very small scale in 1994 with the dream of becoming a leader in the downstream sub-sector of the petroleum industry.

He was born on July 1, 1965, in a small Hausa-Fulani community in Kano State, known as Rano.

He built his first retail outlets in Kano State in 1996, and incorporated A. A Rano Nigeria Limited in the Year 2002.

As a philanthropist of note, he founded the renowned A. A Rano Foundation, a Non-Governmental and Non-Profit Organization that focuses on community development projects including health, education, provision of portable water, youth and women empowerment.

Rano internalised a visionary culture of industry at an early age. From adolescence through adulthood, he sought to acquire the inexhaustible ropes of humility, industriousness and sincere modesty.

Unknown to many, Rano is not about oil and gas alone. He recently diversified into the aviation sector with the debut of Rano Air.

The airline is currently making waves the aviation sector.

While having a test run, Rano Air on Sunday, May 7, 2023, made its first landing at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), Ikeja, Lagos.

Aviation experts who flew in Rano Air 50-seater-capicity, Embraer E145, told NATIONAL WAVES that the new plane flew without any hindrances.

Rano Air is billed to fly Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Maiduguri, and Sokoto routes.

The first flight which had 35 first-time passengers were flown from Kano to Lagos State and they were unanimous in their verdicts,that they had a smooth and memorable flight.
