The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has said an Unmanned Area Vehicle [UAV] and not helicopter, crashed in Kaduna.
NAF pointed out that there were therefore no casualties.
The Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet in a statement said the crash was a NAF Unmanned Aerial vehicle, (UAV) that suffered mishap
He said, “Please be informed that no helicopter crash occurred. Instead, a NAF Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) experienced a mishap after take-off for a mission, at a location near Rumji Village and about 15 Km from Base.
“Since it is an unmanned vehicle, there were no casualties on board or on ground.”
The NAF Director Public Relations & information also said that preliminary investigation had since commenced to ascertain what might have caused the mishap.
He assured Nigerians that this minor setback would not, in anyway, affect all ongoing operations.
Initial reports on had said that a NAF helicopter had crashed in Kaduna earlier today.
