One of the brilliant minds at the University of Lagos, Architect Nnezi Uduma-Olugu, PhD, who is the current Head of Department, Department of Architecture at the University have poured out her passion for Landscaping into a book, designed to make the understanding of landscaping simple.
A former Coordinator of Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) Programme of Architecture Department, University of Lagos has just published her book titled” A Fresh Approach To Interrogating Landscape Design….Changing Landscape by Design”
This will be her second book on the subject of Landscape.
Arc. Nnezi, no doubt, has worked tirelessly at the nexus of architecture and landscape architecture in Nigeria, to make the connection and differences known. By teaching and practicing in both fields.
Dr Nnezi Uduma-Olugu continues to impact the professional lives of students and her colleagues in creating an awareness in the built environment. She is one of the few architects with the dual certification of first class in Architecture and gold medal in landscape architecture shouting on top of the mountain to passionately create awareness about the little know, little respected landscape architecture in Nigeria.
She feels that it is important to write the book on Landscape because, by teaching landscape architecture at the tertiary level, she is molding a new set of young architects who are coming up with a different mindset of the strenuous relationship between architecture and its surrounding landscape, leading to a more responsive and more responsible architecture.
Before her latest book, she had published a book which is an introduction on the subject of Landscape Architecture, while her latest one expanciates on the principles of landscape designing.Both books are now available on Amazon and at the University of Lagos bookshop.
