Suspended chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole

The squabble between the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the Edo Stae governor, Godwin Obaseki is presently taking its toll on the duo.
While Obaseki resigned from the APC few hours ago, Oshiomhole’s suspension by an Abuja High Court was affirmed by a three-man panel of the Court of Appeal.
In a judgment delivered by Justice Mohammed Lamido, the three-man panel dismissed Oshiomhole’s appeal for lacking in merit.
The panel accordingly affirmed the decision of an Abuja High Court which had in early March ordered the suspension of Oshiomhole as APC National Chairman.
As if that was not enough to unsettle Oshiomhole, the National Working Committee of the APC, Tuesday announced its Deputy National Chairman (South), Senator Abiola Ajimobi who is critically ill with COVID-19, as its acting National Chairman.
This was as a result of the verdict of the Appeal Court in Abuja to uphold the earlier suspension of the party’s substantive Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, by of a lower court.
Ajimobi’s emergence as the acting chairman was contained a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu in Abuja.
‘The NWC “has received the news indicating the Appeal Court has upheld the suspension of the Party’s National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole by an FCT High Court pending the determination of the substantive suit.
“Guided by advice from the Party’s legal department in line with the provisions of Section 14.2. (iii) of the Party’s constitution, the Deputy National Chairman (South), Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, will serve as the Party’s Acting National Chairman.
“According to Section 14.2. (iii),of the APC constitution, the Deputy National Chairman, North/South “Shall act as the National Chairman in the absence of the National Chairman from his zone” The statement said
