Bright Osayi Samuel
By Our Reporter
For Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel, this is not too palatable a news. This is because he could be handed a hefty 10-match ban after he joined in the violence that followed a Turkish Super Lig game against Trabzonspor.
This is according to the rules and regulations of the Turkish football association for violent conduct.
Osayi-Samuel, who is expected Wednesday to join the Super Eagles in Morocco for friendlies against Ghana and Mali, was seen giving it back to fans who invaded the pitch during this game.
He will plead self-defense to avoid punishment.
A dozen fans were arrested during the crowd trouble and they will be prosecuted.
In the meantime, his Turkish club Fenerbache have said they will consider withdrawing from the league.
A meeting fixed for April 2 will take this decision.
The Istanbul giants are second in the league standings, two points behind leaders and city rivals Galatasaray.
