Olufemi Soneye has been appointed to replace Garba-Deen Muhammad as the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited
NATIONAL WAVES reports that the NNPCL announced this on Thursday, via a post on X, formerly Twitter, describing Soneye as a seasoned journalist with full-time and freelance experiences.
“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Olufemi Oladapo Soneye as our Chief Corporate Communications Officer.
“Mr Soneye, a seasoned journalist with full-time and freelance experiences at some of the world’s most respected publications in Nigeria, Australia and the United States of America, will lead our corporate communications team.
“And drive our brand penetration, strategic communications initiatives and stakeholder management,” the company stated.
It said the new CCCO is a member of reputable bodies, including the Nigerian Union of Journalists, National Association of Black Journalists, Society of Professional Journalists.
“Soneye is the former President of the Nigerian Media Practitioners, Washington, D.C. We look forward to his valuable contributions to our company,” the oil firm stated.
Until his appointment, Soneye published Per Second News, PSN, [an online newspaper], which is a member of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers [GOCOP].
It would be recalled that Garba-Deen Muhammad, was among senior officials of the company asked to proceed on retirement recently.
