The dethroned Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi has been arrested by security operatives and banished to Nasarawa State, this is as the Kano State Government is poised to turban a new Emir of Kano.
National WAVES learnt that the Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has named Aminu Ado Bayero, son of the late Emir Ado Bayero. This much was announced by the Secretary to the State Government. Usman Alhaji,
Bayero died in 2014 and was succeeded by Sanusi, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Usman Alhaji, at a press briefing on Monday announced the removal Emir Sanusi for alleged insubordination and disrespect for constituted authority.
He said the dethroned emir persistently refused to attend official meetings and programmes organised by the state government, without any lawful justification. He said the attitude amounted to “total insubordination.”
