Activist and publisher of Saharareporters, Omoyele Sowore, escaped death by a whisker as he was on Monday morning ‘shot’ in Abuja by a female police officer.
Sowore, who is a former presidential candidate was reportedly shot by the unidentified female police officer at the Unity Fountain in Abuja.
He was said to be attending a rally with some associates when the incident happened.
An activist, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed the incident, adding that Sowore had been rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
A lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, also said he watched the shooting live on Facebook.
He tweeted: “@YeleSowore has just been shot by a female police officer at the Unity Fountain in Abuja.
“The criminal officer is said to be an ACP. I watched Sowore being shot live on Facebook.
