Ike Ekweremadu and wife , Beatrice

That former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice were arrested and currently remanded in the United Kingdom is no longer news.
What is perhaps news is that Ekweremadu and his wife got into trouble for allegedly falsifying the age the homeless boy they picked up from the street of Lagos.
According to Arise News correspondent who covered the court proceedings in UK, Ekweremadu allegwdly falsified the age of the boy who was taken to the hospital to donate his kidney.
“Ekweremadu’s daughter has been sick and have been on dialysis for a while now.
Ekweremadu and wife found a 15years homeless boy from Lagos in Nigeria and pretended to give him a better life”.
“They procured a passport and visa for him and brought him to UK. He was kept in a house where he was used as a help pending the surgery to remove his organ”
“On the appointed date, the operating surgeon directly asked the boy of his age and he said 15 as against the 21years he was supposed to say” “The doctor thereafter dismissed him and cancelled the surgery”.
“The boy was taken back to the family where he worked as a help but he escaped after some days and went to a police station and narrated his ordeal”
“Ekweremadu was placed under investigation and was arrested on Tuesday on his way to Istanbul to procure another organ for his daughter”
Ekweremadu was charged to court and and remanded in custody. The matter was adjourned to July 7, 2022.
