The letters were read on the floor of the house during plenary on Tuesday.
They stated that after consulting with their constituents, they agreed to join Speaker Gbajabiamila’s party, APC on account of his leadership style.
Rivers and Taraba States are both regarded as PDP strongholds.
In protest against their defection, Minority leader, Ndudi Elumelu and Kingsley Chinda, leader of the PDP caucus. called for the declaration of their seats vacant.
Gbajabiamila countered their submission and urged them to go to court if they feel aggrived. He added that he was told the same thing as a minority leader when he protested the defection of members of his political party
