Timothy Omotoso

Nigerian televangelist, Timothy Omotoso, who was accused of raping some teenage members of his church has continued to languish in South Africa prison.
Omotoso and his co-accused, Zukiswa Sitho and Lusanda Sulani, who have been remanded for seven years are facing a staggering 32 charges, which include rape, racketeering, human trafficking, and assault.
The trio had appeared before the High Court in Gqeberha but efforts to grant them bail failed as application to overturn a ruling made in October against the withdrawal of the charges were dismissed.
In October, their lawyer made a Section 174 application to have the charges dropped against the them but failed.
The application stemmed from a claim made by defence advocate Peter Dauberman, who said that the former State prosecutor, Nceba Ntelwa, incited certain witnesses to commit perjury during their testimonies against the accused.
