Mr Obiajulu Uja
By Victory Oghene
Some Nigerians have condemned the behaviour of Mr Obiajulu Uja, from Oji-River Local Government Area of Enugu State, based in Abuja and a staunch supporter of Labour Party Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, for disrupting the taking off of an Ibom air flight scheduled to fly from Abuja to Lagos by 6pm.
Mr. Uja was bundled out of an ibom air flight yesterday after constituting himself into a flight risk.
In the video which has now gone viral, Mr. Uja could be heard shouting at the top of his voice, as he was being carried off the plane, “Obedient you’re here Tinubu must not be sworn in as president. They are doing this to me. Obidients you’re here, I am naked. Obidients you’re here, I am going naked.”
Expectedly, no one could come near as officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and Ibom Air surrounded him.
Mr. Uja caused panic while screaming as he was being evacuated.
Mr. Louis Oghenetega, a laboratory scientist, condemned the act. He said its uncivilised and an unpardonable offence. “This is totally wrong, elections have come and gone and if you are not satisfied with the outcome, the best thing to do is to go to court. You don’t hold others to ransom because you are aggrieved on account of the outcome of an election”
Mrs. Oluseyi Davies, a Legal Administrator based in Lagos wondered why some members of the opposition parties are so desperate to truncate Nigeria’s democracy by inviting the military to take over, she said “This man must have been deranged. I don’t understand their desperation. Imagine calling on military to take over and going to stage a protest in U. S”
Mr Timothy Elerewe, a Journalist based in Abuja condemned the act in all totality. He said ” This is wrong. This is madness and dangerous protest carried too far. He should be charged for a threat to national security and be prosecuted to teach others who might want to get entangled in such act a lesson”
A Lagos based businesswoman known as Doris Osugo, told NATIONAL WAVES that MrUja was bereft of ideas.
She said “It’s quite unfortunate that someone who claimed to be businessman would stoop low to get enmeshed in violent act . I guess he wanted to pull a stunt, and this idea is dead on arrival. Can you imagine him delaying the flight for close to two hours. If he was not pulling a stunt, then he’s insane and should be taken to the hospital for medical attention”
Mr Boderick Okeagbu Blessing added his voice to those who condemned the act exhibited by Mr Uja. He said “It’s very wrong for him to distrupt the flight. The best he could have done is to seek redress in Court”
A Nigerian businessman based in Spain, Mr. Gbenga Oloyede, descibed Mr Uja’s behaviour as unfortunate and could be compared to hooliganism.
“His actions are condemnable. He should be charged for causing public disturbance, and perhaps charged with an attempt to hijack a plane. He’s a stupid and blind follower of ‘obedient” He’s a rascal. This is an act of hooliganism”He said
Another Nigerian who spoke to NATIONAL WAVES, on the development, Mr. Peter Martins Amodu aka De Bayons, a property developer and a singer, said Mr. Uja’s action was uncalled for and a breach of security at the airport. He added that Mr. Uja should be behind the bar till charged to court “It’s very foolish of him to bring his frustration into the plane, disturbing passengers and wasting their time. They should lock him up for days to teach him a lesson”
Speaking further, Mr Amodu said “I believe that Labour party is secretly inciting its members to carry out senseless protests all around the world but it’s in vain. They’re trying to stir up an uprising in our country but Tinubu will rule over them for good eight years”
Mr Ejirooghene Lucky, who’s based in Sapele, Delta State said the act was tantamount to terrorism.
“We cannot put the lives of innocent Nigerians at risk because someone did not win an election.”
A Lagos based businesswoman, Mrs. Bisi Fadahunsi-Oluyemi, while speaking to NATIONAL WAVES stated that Mr. Uja disrupted public peace and should be made to face the law. She said “He should be used as scape goat to teach others a lesson. No matter his grievances against Tinubu he shouldn’t disturb the public peace. There are laid down procedures of expressing grievances without disturbing the public. If it’s true he is an obedient fighting for Obi, let’s see if Peter Obi will stand up for him”
The President, Institute of Debt Recovery Practitioners of Nigeria (IDRPN), Mr Chris Akintunde Opeodu, aligned with others who spoke with NATIONAL WAVES to lambast Mr. Uja, he lampooned him for disrupting the flight. He said “He should channel his grievances or dissatisfaction to the court of law , not by constituting nuisance in the public. He should be made to face the consequences of his actions”
Mr Chinedum Ikogwe, a top Journalist based in Abuja seems to have a divergent opinions, he said Mr Uja is not a member of the Obedient family but an APC member that was contracted to act a script.
He however condemned his action for disrupting the Ibom Air flight.
” Mr. Uja acted a drama while on board of the Ibom Air flight for his paymaster, He’s not a member of the Obidient family. We know him very well, his wife, Lilian, works with TVC. He should be prosecuted”
It would be recalled that the Ibom Air flight, from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja to Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, was yesterday delayed for close to two hours from 6pm to 735pm as airport security operatives and officials of Ibom Air tried for a long time to remove Mr. Uja from the plane.
