For billionaire entrepreneur and philanthropist, Hon. Ned Nwoko, the time to eradicate malaria in Africa has come and it is based on this premise that he’s organizing a world press conference on Mosquito Elimination and Malaria Vaccine Research project in Africa.
The press conference which is expected to hold today in Abuja is organized under the auspices of Prince Ned Nwoko foundation, the conference is part of Antarctica Expedition by Nwoko and wife Regina scheduled for January 2020 to tackle Malaria in the African continent.
According to a statement by the project coordinator,Chukwuebuka Anyaduba,the Ned Nwoko foundation planned to collaborate with local and international stakeholders to create awareness on ways of eradicating Malaria scourge in Africa.
The statement said the foundation would institute an endowment for research on Malaria Vaccine in selected African Universities to curb the deadly disease.
World health organization WHO statistics showed that Malaria resulted in about 216 million clinical episodes, with over 445,000 deaths annually in Africa.
The project is part of the cardinal objectives of Prince Ned Nwoko foundation and the mandate of United Nation’s sustainable development goals ( SDG goal 3 for good health)
The foundation has since the past two decades covered scholarships, skill acquisition schemes and public charities for the less privileged with thousands of beneficiaries courtsey of Prince Nwoko, former member of the House of Representatives , Aniocha/ Oshimili federal constituency 1999- 2003
