The Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris seems to be literally swimming in troubled waters as Minister of Finance , Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, reportedly suspend him over allegation of N80 billion fraud.
Mr. Idris was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in Kano, on Monday.
The Minister’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Tanko Abdullahi confirmed the suspension, explaining that it was indefinite and to enable unhindered investigations into the fraud allegations.
