Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu

Chairman of Ambode Campaign Organisation, AMCO, Mr. Olawale Oluwo, has said his group is better positioned now to send away Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Speaking on a current affairs programme, The Morning Show, monitored on Arise Television in Lagos on Tuesday, Oluwo said his group is not on a revenge mission.
He explained that his coming back to the party after the 2019 election was as a result of the new leadership at the centre.
“We are not member of the GAC, so if they endorse Sanwo-Olu, that will not stop us from contesting against him.” He said.
Oluwo who said a member of the group will slug it out with Sanwo-Olu at the primary said he wouldn’t mind if his group put him forward.
The GAC is like an NGO. They are free to assemble, but the decision of the group is not binding on our members.
He, however, said the process doesn’t need to be rancorous, but would not be intimidated.
We have our structure all over and we are fielding candidates in all the positions in Lagos state.
Oluwo said Ambode was a victim of godfatherism and wouldn’t want to be a godfather.
Commenting on GAC, he said the group is unknown to the APC constitution.
Oluwo listed Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the leader of the GAC also said that the incumbent governor and his deputy are member of the GAC.
“Imagine a governor who’s supposed to be the symbol of governance in a state is under another authority is an anomaly in itself. That’s what we are fighting to correct.” He said.
On former Governor Ambode’s next move, Oluwo said he would announce his next step before the week runs out.
“If the party nominates Asiwaju Tinubu as the flag bearer of the APC, we have no problem about that, but we won’t support his candidacy.”
