News emanating from the Lagos Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, Ikeja about embattled medical doctor of Optical Cancer Care Foundation, Femi Olaleye, is not a palatable one for him.
The court has convicted the medical doctor for defiling his wife’s 16-year-old niece and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
Justice Rahmon Oshodi, who had dismissed his “no case application” after the prosecutor proved the allegations, found him guilty as charged.
The judge dismissed his application for lack of merit and asked him to enter his defence.
The Lagos State government had filed two counts of charges against Olaleye, alleged him of having unlawful sexual intercourse and did sexually assaulted by penetrating her mouth with his penis.
His offences contravened Sections 137 and 261 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
Convicting the doctor, Justice Rahman Oshodi held that the prosecution proved the two counts of defilement and sexual assault by penetration against Olaleye.
The judge said that the evidence adduced before the court, against the defendant was compelling and proven beyond reasonable doubt.
According to him, the confessional statement of the defendant which he made before his lawyer, Mr Olalekan Buruji and the DPO of Anthony Police Station that he regretted his act proved that he committed the offences.
The judge said that the oral statement which the defendant denied, had the NBA seal of Buruji on it and his denial did not hold water.
“You are a dangerous offender and you must be ashamed,” he said.
