The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu on Sunday announced his resignation as the leader of the ruling party.
It was gathered from reliable sources that Senator Adamu resigned his position on the orders of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
While some sources confirmed to NATIONAL WAVES that Senator Adamu had resigned from his position, others said it was a rumour.
The alleged resignation could not be officially confirmed as at the time of filing this report as top APC chieftains contacted by our correspondents gave conflicting information.
The controversy trailing Adamu’s resignation is coming three days before the long-awaited crucial National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings of the party.
Gathered that the National Secretary of the party, Iyiola Omisore also tendered his resignation minutes after.
Adamu, a former Governor of Nasarawa State has been facing numerous battles since the party won the presidential election on February 25, 2023 on account of not supporting President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential primary of the APC.
