Talk about one juju musician who is currently making waves by giving exceptional account of himself and Michael Oluseyi Omisakin and his Juju Macossa band will readily come to mind.
The talented musician who was born on May 8, 1998 is the first child of his family and hails from Ile Ife, in Ife East Local Government Area of Osun state
On how he started his musical career, Michael, who bagged an OND in Mechanical Engineering from Yaba College of Technology, Lagos said, “For me music is a passion that has come to stay, I remember with nostalgia while in secondary school, I used to entertain my classmates by singing different songs at break time, some of my classmates will invite me to entertain them and I don’t hesitate to entertain them by singing gospel lyrics, I was at home with gospel songs because my father is a clergyman and owns a church, I actually started my career as a chorister with the Celestial Church of Christ, National Headquarters Makoko Lagos, I played drum set there for three years before I started singing”
On what motivated him into singing juju music, he stated that he has always appreciated the culture and traditions of his country, Nigeria.
“I’ve always wanted to be recognized for doing something that showed our culture and traditions, so that motivated me to sing Juju music”
The upcoming juju musician told National WAVES Magazine that his role models are King Sunny Ade(KSA), Abel Dosunmu (Mega99) and Ademola Famose.
Michael’s brand of music is a fusion of juju, fuji, gospel and macossa. “It’s melodious and most lovers of juju music are down with it”
.He is currently working on his first album which will hit the airwaves and shelves before the end of the third quarter of 2020.
