The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Mr Gboyega Akosile has described as fake news insinuations making the rounds that the leader of the All Progressives Congress and presidential aspirant of the party,Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, told the governor to jettison his ambition to run for a second term in office.
NATIONAL WAVES put a call to Akosile to react to the allegation and he debunked same. ” This is gutter journalism. Its fake news, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu did not advise the governor to drop his bid for a second term in office”.
Recall that the social media was agog with tales that the endorsement of the governor for a second term by the Governance Advisory Council, is a ruse and confirmed the council as a mere lobby group without authority going by rumour that Tinubu withdrew his support for the governor.
Talebearers stated that the governor was told to keep to the agreement of one term as it was never on the table that he would run for a second term.
