Collapsed transmission power lines

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company IBEDC has confirmed the collapse of “All 33 KV feeders from Abeokuta Transmission Substation (T/S), Ojere, and New Abeokuta TS at Kobape. It added that until the towers are reconstructed, the affected towns and communities will not be supplied with power” IBEDC however apologised to Ogun customers over impending outage.
It would be recalled that the three power lines (towers) on the Papalanto/Ojere 132KV Double-Circuit Lines collapsed, plunging the entire Abeokuta, Mowe and four other major towns in Ogun state into a blackout that may last for a long period of time.
Gathered that the collapse of the three towers has already put the Abeokuta Transmission Substation (T/S), Ojere, and New Abeokuta TS at Kobape, off the grid.
The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), a utility firm in charge of the catchment areas, confirmed the incident to NATIONAL WAVES maintaining that the “entire city of Abeokuta, and environs, Ayetoro, Imeko, Owode Egba and Mowe will be experiencing power outage.”
This outage, the firms said will last till when the towers are reconstructed. It apologised to all customers for the inconvenience the outage might cause. A notice to customers obtained by NATIONAL WAVES read.
“The incident adversely affected Abeokuta Transmission Substation (T/S), Ojere, and New Abeokuta TS at Kobape.
“All 33 KV feeders from these two substations will be out until the towers are reconstructed. As such, the entire city of Abeokuta, and environs, Ayetoro, Imeko, Owode Egba and Mowe will be experiencing power outage.
“Power supply will be restrored to the affected communities as soon as the Towers are reconstructed.
“We sincerely, apologise for the inconvenience.”
