Actress Biodun Okeowo has given a graphic account of her heart -rending and emotional journey into her wedding day and what led her there.
In a long, empathic Instagram post, Okeowo let her fans in into bittersweet wedding simply because her mother, who had always dreamed of seeing her daughter get married, was not present to witness it.
Okeowo shared that she had always dreamed of having a beautiful and intimate wedding ceremony, but life had taken a different turn.
She became a single mother and faced judgment and labeling from others, which made her feel like her dreams were shattered.
However, Okeowo testified that God rewrote her story and blessed her with the man of her dreams, children, and a loving family.
She expressed her gratitude to God and celebrated the fact that He never makes mistakes and does everything at the right time.
“A BIT OF MY STORY! As a young girl, I always dreamed of wearing a beautiful white wedding dress and having an intimate garden ceremony, a simple, elopement-style wedding with just me and my Prince Charming. No crowds.
“Hmmmm! My mom, a staunch Christian and prayer warrior, always hoped her only daughter would marry properly, with her bride price paid. But life took a different turn, it didn’t go as we planned. I remember days when my mom and I would talk about how colorful my wedding day would be.
My biggest pain on my wedding day was that my mom wasn’t there to witness it. RIP, Mom! I miss you deeply, and no one can ever fill your void. The tears from you not being here anymore are tears I’m not sure will ever dry!
“As a single mom, I once felt my dreams were shattered. I was judged and labeled, but God rewrote my story. My children are the greatest gifts of my life. God never makes mistakes. He does everything at the right time.
“Today, I celebrate God for blessing me with the man of my dreams, the children I prayed for, and the family I longed for.
“Rejoice with me, and if you desire a similar testimony, tap into it because I’ve gone through my share of heartbreaks and sheges, but God came through, giving me exactly what I prayed for.
“No matter how dark the tunnel may seem, there’s always light at the end.
“I pray for everyone crying out to God for a change. He will rewrite your story, and your testimony shall be permanent! Amen. To God, all be the glory! Happy New Year!”.
