How 14-year-old Secondary School Student Was Killed By Flood in Ogun

Parents of a 14-year-old secondary school student are currently mourning the demise of their child who died as a result of flood that occurred on account of a downpour on Tuesday, in Sagamu area of Ogun State.

NATIONAL WAVES learnt that many people were equally injured, while property worth millions of naira were lost to the flood.

This unfortunate development was confirmed by the State Commissioner for Environment, Mr Ola Oresanya, on Wednesday, when he paid an on-the-spot assessment to areas affected by the flood.

The Environment Commissioner sa8d that the state government would embark on the dredging of the canal, and redesign of waterways in the affected areas.

Oresanya further called for assistance from the federal government on the redesign of the drainage master plan of the state.

While admonishing residents to stop dumping refuse and building of houses on waterways, he commiserated with those affected by the flood.
