It was tears and sorrow as 14 people injured got injured in a multi-vehicle collision at magboro junction lagos-ibadan expressway on Sunday 27th of August 2023.
The accident took place around 8:30am when a Mazda Bus crashed into a yellow commercial bus( Korope) from behind leading into a multiple accident.
A motorcyclist who witnessed the crash expressed his concern to the injured victims,
Idris a Driver who narrowly escaped the accident said it was God that saved them if not he and his passengers would have been victims of the crash.
‘The Mazda bus was speeding and it hit a korope(yellow bus) from behind then the bus fell towards the junction where motorcyclists usually stay’
Prudent a passerby said.
Federal Road safety corps (FRSC) were at the scene, Florence Okpe the spokesperson for Ogun State sector of FRSC when contacted said 21 passengers were involved and 14 were injured. The driver of the Mazda bus sustained the most injuries.
Okpe said ’No life was lost, It was a multiple crash and three vehicles were involved. 14 people got injured eight males and six females. It was due to speeding and wrongful overtaking and one of the vehicles lost control’.
