A group, Good Governance Initiative has called on the federal government to sack the acting chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), Dr. Musa Usman Abubakar on his inability to check excesses within the organization, stressing that there is a lack of control..
In a statement made available to National WAVES, the group said, “The anti-graft effort of ICPC has been endangered by the clandestine work of a married couple who continue to run their private cartel enterprises within the organization, lining their pockets.
Why should the chairman not check the excesses and why should he be complacent? Or has he been compromised? Are they (married couple) above questioning and possible sanction? Are the clash of interest and the apparent lack of respect for due process by the couple not attracted the attention of the chairman? We have no option but call for the ICPC chairman resignation or sack in the absence of his inability to exert control”
