The former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouk, on Wednesday, shunned the invite of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged N37.1 billion fraud.

Umar-Farouk failed to appear at the headquarters of the EFCC in Jabi, Abuja, as at the time of filling this report.

Sources squealed that the ex-minister shunned the invite by the anti-graft commission. The source said Umar-Farouk did not appear in person and wasn’t represented by her counsel.

Farouk-Umar who served as minister under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari was being investigated over the sum of N37.1 billion that was allegedly laundered under her watch through a contractor, James Okwete.

She was invited for questioning but refused to appear before the anti-graft commission
