A father of nine children, simply known as Mr Charles, has reportedly killed self in the Jeddo community of Delta State.
It was learnt that the grisly incident took place in the early hours of Monday. The man allegedly took to suicide after drinking an insecticide.
Sources in the know said Mr Charles, who lived in the Jeddo community of Okpe Local Government Area, drank the insecticide at his residence and proceeded to his in-law’s place at nearby Ugbokodo, where he eventually gave up the ghost.
It was gathered that before the incident, Charles, who was a member of Jeddo Community Vigilante, had a heated argument with his wife, pleading with her not to leave him.
The wife however reportedly refused to hearken to his plea.
Although the late Charles did not leave behind any suicide note, empty bottles of the insecticide were reportedly discovered in his pockets.
