The erstwhile Chairman of United Bank for Africa,and Tax Appeal Tribunal Jurist, Kayode Segun Sofola, SAN, has applauded the appointment of the new Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Chief Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, SAN, whom he described as one of the best erudite constitutional lawyers on the stable of Nigerian bar.
He posited that “Fagbemi will no doubt bring to bear his wealth of experience, nitty gritty of the constitution, jurisprudence, meritorious private sector practice and exemplary attributes he had absorbed from his principal, Chief Afe Babalola, SAN, which would certainly set a remarkable template and precedents for the exalted office, in terms of Justice reforms and administration.
In the same vein, the elder statesman commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for making the choice of Lateef Fagbemi, which apparently is a departure from the past appointments of some mediocre who stumbled into the office without pedigrees and thus couldn’t ordinarily interpret the statutory rudiments of their judicial assignments
