The Director of Operations of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Mohammed Umar, has been appointed the new acting chairman of the commission to replace Ibrahim Magu.
The appointment became necessary after Ibrahim Magu was suspended for gross misconduct and allegations of insubordination and corruption.
Although no official confirmation from the commission yet about the new appointment, NAN reports that a top official of the commission confirmed the development.
The source who spoke under anonymity said Mohammed Umar was chosen by the “EFCC hierarchy” to become the new acting chairman and get on with the services of the commission.
