Diri Retains Job As Bayelsa Governor, Defeats Sylva At The Poll

Governor Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State has retained his job for another four year as the Independent National Electoral Commission declared him as the winner of the governorship election in Bayelsa state.

Diri, who contested for the second term on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won the poll after scoring 175, 196 votes, to defeat close challenger, Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 110, 108 votes.
