Stranded Nigerians In Dubai

Some Nigerians who are currently stranded in Dubai, a city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates are appealing to the federal government to evacuate them.
In a video that has gone viral, some of the stranded Nigerians who spoke in Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa said that they were taken and abandoned in the desert by the Immigration officers of the United Arab Emirates.
One of them who spoke in the video said there are over 100 Nigerians stranded in Dubai and they are all waiting for President Muhammudu Buhari to evacuate them.
He said; “We have over 100 Nigerians stranded in Dubai since the closure of the airports as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. We are appealing to the government to evacuate us. There are pregnant women, the elderly, those who came for holidays with valid documents among us. Most of us had purchased our flight tickets before UAE banned international flight. We are deprived of shelter, food and water. we are treated like animals. The government should immediately intervene and help us to return home.”
