The chairman caretaker committee of Ifo local government, Ogun state Hon. Fola Salami has ordered the immediate suspension without pay and arrest of a council official (names withheld) who publicly assaulted a lady while monitoring the COVID 19 lockdown at Ojodu Abiiodun area of Ifo local government of Ogun state, consequent upon which the video footage of the ugly incident was posted on social media.
Reacting to the incident, the council Boss Hon. Fila Salami issued a six paragraph statement said , “it came as a rude shock to me when I saw the video of one of our officials enforcing the lockdown order with gross inhumane attitude. This does not portray the humane nature popularly preached by the Ifo local government.
The chairman added that after watching the embarrassing video which has since go viral “he has no alternative than to suspend the officials involved, stopped their salary and ordered their arrest .
The council boss there appealed to members of the public to remain calm assuring them that whoever is found guilty shall face the wrath of the law
