Court Remands Ex- AGF Idris in Kuje Prison Over Alleged N109bn Fraud

Former Accountant General of the federation Ahmed Idris has pleaded not guilty to 14 count charge of Stealing and criminal breach of trust.
Prosecuting counsel, Rotimi Jacobs today opposed the plea of bail made by defendants counsel.
He prayed the court to remand the defendants and allow them argue a proper bail application at a later date and not an oral application
Delivering ruling on the matter Justice Adeyemi Ajayi held that the  court is not a puppet to dance to the rhythm of public opinion.
The defendant counsel Chris Uche SAN was asked to file a written bail application in accordance with the law to allow the prosecuting counsel respond to the application which he opposed
Counsel to 1st defendant however pleaded with the court that due to the porious security nature of the Kuje correctional facility, his client be remanded in the EFCC custody.
Justice Ajayi repeatedly ordered the senior advocate to sit down that nobody can overturn her order
Court adjourned till 27th July for hearing of bail application while the accused persons were remanded at Kuje prison pending next hearing
