The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct fresh election in three local government areas of Zamfara thereby declaring the March 18 governorship election in state inconclusive.
INEC had declared Dauda Lawal of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the election.
The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bello Matawalle, later challenged the outcome of the election at the tribunal but his petition was dismissed for lacking in merit.
Matawalle, who is currently the Minister of State for Defence, was seeking re-election under the APC.
