The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele has procured the 2023 expression of interest and presidential nomination forms of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), after paying the mandatory N100 million, thus ending weeks of sustained speculations on his presidential bid.

Emefiele was said to have picked the forms on Friday, May 6, 2022 after payment was made for them.
It could not be confirmed who made the payment on his behalf.
Emefiele’s decision to take a plunge into the murky waters of politics and to seek elective position at the level of the presidency has put his current job of CBN governor on the line. He must obligatory resign before the presidential primary election.
Recall that support groups had some weeks back drummed support for him and mounted pressure on him to enter the race for the 2023 presidency.
The groups and friends of Meffy first converged on Lagos and subsequently resorted to strategic media exposure of the apex banker.
It remains to be seen how far Emefiele would go in his new political voyage.
