Pandemonium rented the air as
Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, was prevented from performing this year’s Eid-el-Kabir prayers at the Osogbo Eid prayer ground on Wednesday following breach of protocols.
An argument ensured over the sitting position of the governor.
It was gathered that the immediate-past spokesperson for the Nigerian Senate, Ajibola Basiru, had arrived at the prayer ground located at Oke-Baale area in Osogbo, the state capital city and allegedly sat at the position reserved for the governor.
When Governor Adeleke arrived the prayer ground, some minutes later, it was learnt that efforts at making Senator Basiru leave the front space for Adeleke did not yield result
Efforts by some Muslims leaders to make Senator Basiru leave the postion reserved for Governor Adeleke failed as he remained adamant.
Governor Adeleke and his entourage left the prayer ground angrily and couldn’t participate in the religious event.
Leadership reports that when the spokesperson of Governor Adeleke, Mallam Olawale Rasheed was contacted, he confirmed the incident, claiming that the governor escaped assassination attempt at the eid prayer ground.
