Awa-Ibraheem’s House of Jemila Unveils New Luxury Perfumery Store In Lekki

Business for the beautiful and adorable OJ Awa-Ibraheem is indeed on the upward swing as she’s set to open a new branch in Lekki, Lagos State.

Awa-Ibraheem who’s the brain behind the famous Spa and perfumery outlet, House of Jemila has concluded arrangements to unveil her new luxury perfumery store.

The shop which opens to the public on the first Saturday in December 2024, is poised to be a one stop shop for all perfume lovers all over Lagos and beyond.

According to pretty lady “this outlet is not just another perfume store; it represents a bold new concept. The new store will focus exclusively on niche fragrances sourced from around the world. The idea is to offer an extensive collection of labels, allowing our customers to discover the scents that resonate with them personally.”

Awa-Ibraheem stated this at a media parley during the week, at The Saffron Hotels in Ikeja, Lagos. She said the shop is intended to enhance the experience of perfume buffs.

The vivacious lady’s journey into the world of Spa and perfumery began about eight years ago with the formal launch of her first shop on June 4, 2016. The first shop was to birth another one in the same Mainland area within a few years.

Over these years, the Political Science graduate from Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, has not looked back in her quest to dominate her sphere of business: a venture she began after marriage, fueled by a passion for creativity and the guidance of a trusted mentor.

According to her, starting a business wasn’t easy, but she was fortunate to have the support of her late mother, who helped care for her children while she explored her potential.

Through the ups and downs, she learned valuable lessons, and is grateful for where she stands today despite the many challenges businesses face, including the rising dollar exchange rate.

Despite the challenges, Mrs Awa-Ibrahim is plunging into local manufacture of pure fragrances which is set to be launched in the first quarter of next year, the fragrances will be sold side by side niche fragrances which would be stocked by the Lekki shop.

Shedding more light on her perfumery outlets, the unassuming lady said.

“This third store is not just another outlet; it represents a bold new concept. The new store will focus exclusively on niche fragrances sourced from around the world. The idea is to offer an extensive collection of labels, allowing our customers to discover the scents that resonate with them personally”

“To enhance this experience, we are introducing a dedicated Pure Fragrance Corner, where customers can explore pure fragrance oils—undiluted and authentic. This interactive space will let customers identify the notes that appeal to them, helping us suggest perfumes that align perfectly with their preferences”

She further said “We have also carefully curated the store’s ambiance to evoke a sense of warmth and luxury. From inviting seating areas to personalized consultations, the goal is to provide an immersive, satisfying experience that goes beyond a simple shopping trip”

The smooth talking lady added that plans are underway to own her own brand.

“This flagship store also lays the foundation for an even bigger move: the unveiling of our own perfume line.”.

Speaking on how affordable her perfumes are compared to other designer prrfumes, She said It’s affordable. “Don’t forget that the niche market generally is not cheap, my own is a niche market. Also don’t forget that I have said this is dedicated only to the niche. They are not mass produced, when you are doing the niche it’s not mass produced and therefore is not cheap, and the market will be a bit on the high side. For you, it might be on the high side, may be ₦100,000, ₦50,000 may be nothing to some other person, while it may be something to another person. Like I said this thing is relative. Everything is straight on the dollars. As an entrepreneur, I want to sell and recover my money fast and not to stock. There are so many brands in Europe, the middle east and elsewhere, but I just want to do my own thing.
I’m going to invite you when I’m opening the store” She sounded with a note of finality.
