Otunba Abimbola Davis, remember him, he was a chieftain of the
Association for Better Nigeria (ABN). He reportedly died this morning at the age of 67.
The ABN, an organization with ties to the military, led by Chief Arthur Nzeribe, obtained a high court injunction against the holding of the election on the basis of alleged corruption on June 10, two days to the June 12 1993 presidential election presumably won by Chief MKO Abiola.
A dependable source close to the former ABN chieftain confirmed that he died on Friday morning.
The source added that Otunba Davis developed omplication arising from an undisclosed ailment and died at his Jericho, Ibadan, Oyo State palatial residence in the morning
“He was okay yesterday evening when we all had fun at the Ibadan Golf Club. It was shocking when we were told he died this morning,” he said.
The remains of the great author and strategist have been deposited at the Ring Road State Hospital, Ibadan. Oyo State.
He is survived by children, grandchildren and wife, Olayinka.
