As the much awaited Rally organised across the south west of Nigeria in support of the region being new security outfit holds the Gateway state numero uno of the Committee for Defence of human rights Comrade Yinka Folarin has declared that Amotekun the newly  created security outfit has gained the massive support of the people of Ogun state in particular and the entire Yoruba nation in general.

Comrade Folarin stated this in a chat with the media at the Pansheke Ibara venue of the Amotekun Solidarity rally witnessed by large number of people from different parts of Ogun state.

‘Amotekun has come to stay  considering the massive support received since the creation of the vigilante outfit .The people of Yoruba land have spoken and I can assure you that the security outfit will operate in conjunction with the aim of curbing the ever increasing crime rate in Yorubaland ”

The human rights activist however cautioned the founding fathers of the outfit not to withdraw to the background but to continue to play active role in the day to day smooth running of the security outfit.

Comrade Folarin however dispelled the rumours flying that the outfit was out to wage war against a particular tribe adding that the outfit would work with other security agencies and other tribe or ethnic groups to reduce crime rate in our society.

Also speaking at the rally, Alhaji Jimoh Olawale Taiwo the Ogun state Coordinator of Amotekun commended the initiative of the Yoruba leaders for coming together as one with one aim and objective to wipe out crime from Yorubaland.

In brief chat with newsmen while moving around Abeokuta to monitor the rally the Commissioner of police in Ogun State, CP Kenneth Ebrinson said he was  on patrol with his men to  check the security situation as regards the rally and to make sure that hoodlums did not take over the rally.

The CP was satisfied with the conduct of the organisers of the rally
