Aftermath of Super Eagles Ordeal, Libya Deports Over 150 Nigerians

Weeks after Libya abandoned the Super Eagles at the airport and
CAF ruled that Libya’s national team will forfeit three points to Nigeria’s Super Eagles over the treatment of the latter in Libya.

The Libyan authorities have deported over 150 Nigerians

This was done through the Directorate for Combating Illegal Migration, in partnership with the International Organisation for Migration, which facilitated the repatriation of over 150 Nigerian migrants, primarily women and children, through Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli.

The development was announced on Tuesday by Migrant Rescue Watch, an advocacy group, in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

In its statement, Migrant Rescue Watch disclosed, “DCIM repatriated with IOM support over 150 #migrants, mainly women with children of Nigerian nationality via Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli.”
