Yahoo Boys

It was a ritualistic, gory scene in Benin, Edo State capital on Sunday as some Yahoo boys were seen in a viral video abusing the Naira. They scattered wads of notes on the streets as onlookers marvelled at the surreal nature of the spectacle in open defiance of the law banning Naira abuse.
In the video made available to NATIONAL WAVES, an olooker simply named Tonia said ” Benin don cast, Yahoo Boys are throwing money on the streets, you people should continue to pick money. It’s for your destiny. You will be used fir ritual purposes”
Many who spoke to NATIONAL WAVES are worried that the country is gradually turning into lawlessness because of lax law and deficit in enforcement.
Augustine Irele who spoke with our correspondent said ” this gory display is going unchallenged because only small fries of those who previously abused the Naira have been punished. What happened to Okoya’s children? Were they ever arrested, not to talk of arraigning them for abusing the Naira.
Alice Aniebo , a trader wondered where the country is headed, saying,” the future is bleak. Federal government needs to crackdown on moral debasement in the society. Look at the recent one in Abuja where a young man killed his girlfriend in what looks like a ritual.
