Famous American singer, Bruno Mars has broken the record for the most monthly listeners on Spotify, a worldwide music streaming platform, thanks to his Christmas songs.
Mars’ songs “White Christmas,” “24k Christmas,” and “That’s Why I Like Christmas” have witnessed an uptick in streaming owing to the holiday season, bringing his Spotify listeners to a record 140 million.
Similarly, Ariana Grande shattered Spotify’s record for the most monthly listens by a female artist. The record was previously held by Taylor Swift.
Grande’s monthly listeners increased to 117.319 million during the holidays, surpassing Swift’s stats.
Meanwhile, Spotify announced Burna Boy as the most streamed African artist on its platform in 2024.
South African vocalist Tyla, Nigerian singers Ayra Starr, Rema, and Tems were also named the African musicians with the most streaming on the platform this year.
