Monday Okpebholo, Asue Ighodalo

With two local government areas to as announced by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okpebholo, is leading in the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday.
According to the results from 16 Local Government Areas as announced by INEC on Sunday, Okpebholo secured 244,549 votes, while Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) garnered 195,954 votes. Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP) received a total
of 13,348 votes.
With this result, Okpebholo is leading Ighodalo with 48,595 votes.
INEC has announced a 3-hour recess to await results from the final two LGAs.
So far, results from 16 LGAs have been presented at the commission’s headquarters in Benin City.
Going by any unforeseen circumstances, collation is expected to commence by 5pm.
