This is an honour well deserved by Dr. Jim Ovia, the chairman of one of Nigeria’s leading banks, Zenith Bank Plc as the University of Lagos (UNILAG) conferred the prestigious honorary doctorate degree on him at its 50th convocation ceremony held penultimate week.
Around The Cities scooped that the honour was as a result of Jim Ovia’s contribution towards the development of the institution.
Not only that, most first class students of the university are given automatic employment in Zenith Bank on the orders of the Delta State born banker cum technocrat.
At the well-attended convocation ceremony, Jim Ovia called for private intervention to salvage the nation’s education system. He urged government to license more private universities and institutions to enhance the education system.
