Nasarawa State Govt Set To Host NIPR’s Finishing School

The Nasarawa State Government has signified interest to host the Public Relations Finishing School, a major project of the current Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

Receiving the Institute’s leadership in audience yesterday in Abuja, the Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, said that Nasarawa State Government is ready to partner with the Institute on the Finishing School project, which aims to offer young professionals and interested old practitioners the opportunity to sharpen skills for effective reputation building and management.

The Governor stated that “Nasarawa State is not only interested in the PR Finishing School proposal, but will lead with a portion of land for you”, noting that the State Government is committed to prompt processing of the Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) for the facility at no cost to the NIPR.

Earlier in his remarks, the NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, said that the Finishing School represents a transformative professional and educational endeavour that promises mutual benefits for the country and its host communities.

“With strategic partnerships already secured with reputable institutions globally, including access to the 320,000 members of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communications Management, spanning 126 countries across five continents, we anticipate significant global attention for the eventual host”, Neliaku added.

Neliaku informed that the Governing Council of the Institute will at its 109th meeting scheduled for Sunday, 14th April, 2024, consider bids from various States of the Federation on this subject and take a decision on where the NIPR Finishing School will be located.

Some of the personalities on the President’s delegation were: Vice President and Chairman, Education Advisory Board, Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura, Director General, Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mr. Jibril Baba Ndace, Executive Director, News, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mr. Ayo Adewuyi, Executive Director, DAAR Media Academy, Mr. Mark Imoni Amarere, Director/CEO, Development SPEC Academy, Prof. Okey Ikechukwu, among others.
