The sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Joshua Adekanye, has said three traditional rulers in Ori Ire LGA, Oyo state, were killed in a road accident on Friday. He confirmed the incident saying the accident was a head-on collision between private and commercial vehicles along the Ogbomoso-Oyo expressway.
Adekanye said the survivors are undergoing treatment at the LAUTECH teaching hospital while the corpses of the victims have been deposited at the morgue.
The traditional rulers were identified as Olodogbo of Odogbo, Onibowula of Bowula and Alayetoro of Ayetoro.
The monarchs were said to have been going to a social event in a neighbouring town when the accident happened.
The accident involved a Benz car and a Scania truck
Two of the affected traditional rulers were said to have died on the spot while the third person died at the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital.
The three survivors from the accident are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
